Hold fast, after the defeat

Two events shaped it. A delegation of Christians rode into Madinah to argue about ʿĪsā, and were answered with the story of his mother’s family. And at Uḥud a victory turned to a rout within an hour, with the cry going up that the Prophet ﷺ was dead. Both ask the same of the believer: now that you have the truth, will you stay?
