The longest surah, and the work of years: begun when the Prophet ﷺ reached Madinah, and still receiving ayat in the last weeks of his life. It holds the greatest ayah in the Qurʾan and the longest. A new community is taught, law by law, how to carry a Book — by first being shown a people who were given one before.
