“We sent down the Reminder, and We shall guard it”

They called him a madman and asked where his angels were. The reply has stood for fourteen centuries: “It is We who sent down the Reminder, and it is We who shall guard it.” Then the surah gives him a gift — seven oft-repeated ayat, and the mighty Qurʾan — and tells him to say it out loud.
