Out of darknesses, into the light

“A Book We have sent down to you, that you may bring mankind out of darknesses into the light.” That is its first sentence and its whole subject. It gathers the messengers into one voice and their peoples into another — and then goes to the valley of Makkah, where an old man stands by a house with no crops round it and prays for those who will live there.
